The BP Ford World Rally team has confirmed that Marcus Gronholm's Focus WRC 06 was 'restored to full health' for the remainder of the Swedish Rally following the service at Hagfors at 10.00 hours local time.
Gronholm lost 9 seconds in SS16, after his car developed a hydraulic leak through the stage.
"Hydraulic oil began to leak onto the windscreen midway through the last stage," explained the Finn. "I had to use the manual gearchange system and had no active differential. I carried on until the end of the stage but lost a lot of time."
Ford boss Malcolm Wilson meanwhile has revealed that a filter burst in the Malta 1 stage, which allowed all the hydraulic oil to instantly pour onto the windscreen. The team replaced the filter and the Focus RS left service on time.
